We recommend that you not be fitted for your new breast form(s) and bras until your surgery site has completely healed -- usually 4 to 6 weeks after surgery, sometimes longer.
We also recommend that you schedule an appointment for your first fitting so that we can give you our undivided attention. Please wear your most comfortable or best-fitting bra to your appointment, even if it's a bra you wore before your surgery. This will enable us to measure you accurately to achieve the best fit possible.
You will need a doctor's prescription for your breast form(s), shaper(s) or bras. If you do not yet have a prescription, please call us -- we'd be happy to assist you in communicating with your doctor about what you'll need. It's part of what we do for our patients every day, so just ask.
If you wish, you can also download and print our Physician's Prescription for Post-Mastectomy Supplies and provide it to your doctor for completion. Your prescription MUST included your breast cancer diagnosis code in order for us to file your insurance claim. You should also bring your photo ID and insurance cards to your appointment.
